This gorgeous wreath was prepared by one of our young offenders to lay at a Holocaust Memorial event in Haringey on Sunday 28 January.

This afternoon whilst organizing a floristry activity at Friend in Need, East Barnet I was privileged to hear members reminisce about Birds of Paradise (Strelitzia) growing wild in their native countries of Barbados and Sri Lanka.

I love the forsythia in this arrangement the bright yellow flowers brighten up a miserable January day.

First outing for the teapot in 2018.

January is a slow month in terms of flowers in the Supermarkets. Holland closes down for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year so it takes time for the floristry business to get going.

I love these 2 arrangements - a tropical touch in freezing January

After a week’s break for Christmas and New Year The Flower Bank began sessions with Young Offenders again today. Some great work was produced and I really enjoyed working with this young person - he understood instinctively about working with the shape of the Flower stems and foliage’s shape.
