At this morning’s session I had just received a delivery of flowers from Aldi Tottenham and so the young people and I sorted through the wraps and conditioned the flowers. The young people at the session produced some beautiful arrangements and I was very proud of them.

This week’s mannequin head for Hair Discovery is called “for the lads”.

A massive thanks to our quiz master extraordinaire Simon who together with the wonderful Hayes helped raise £330 at the Quiz Night. This brought the total for fundraising to £710.

I’d been given a plant a few weeks ago and wanted to use the leaves in a design.

Last Thursday I had a stall at Middlesex University’s Christmas Fair. i was definitely one of the oldest there!

Friday night was open mic night at Trinity Church, North Finchley. Thank you Sandy, Patrick & Joe for hosting they were farbulous and nothing was too much trouble. There was a whole host of acts from rap to comedy and my thanks to all the performers.

This week’s mannequin head was inspired by my mum and I called it “Rags & Curlers”.

Thank you Pam Dobbins at The Royal British Legion who made us so welcome at the Royal British Legion in Friern Barnet. The weather was lousy outside but we didn’t notice it as we had fun being creative and upcycling. Dolores was thrilled with her wreath.

Last week I had great fun at Lady Sarah Cohen House creating a Chanukah arrangement with residents.

On Thursday 29 November The Flower Bank was fortunate enough to take part in Haringey’s annual Expo event at Tottenham Town Hall. This year I took a young person with me who was able to create designs in front of interested on lookers. The Flower Bank also was runner up in the Improving skills of Haringey residents and I was honoured to receive the commendation.
