Did You Say Google?

The Flower Bank

On Wednesday, I collected the most beautiful flowers from a Google event at the Georgian 5-star retreat, The Grove, near Watford (see my haul in the attached photograph). I’d only visited the hotel from the “Tradesmen’s entrance” before and wasn’t sure what the fuss was about; well, now I do. It’s the most amazing 300-acre estate moments from the M25 and incredibly close to my favourite film location to visit out of hours, Magic Mike, co-incidentally the set that keeps on giving. I’m indebted to Jo Wise from Floral Circus, who contacted me about the floral surplus, which I’ve been able to turn into an activity with the elderly, a funeral tribute, countless birthday and anniversary bouquets and today they’re going to be in a whole host of wedding designs and garlands in rural Oxfordshire. On Thursday, I received a phone call from Antonin, a French TV journalist for “Les Echappees belles”, a travel/discovery programme that aims to promote a destination via local culture, traditions, food etc. He told me that the Programme’s been on TV since 2005 and gets an average of 1 million viewers every Saturday night and would The Flower Bank and I be interested in being filmed? They’re in London in mid-June which doesn’t leave me long to do a deep clean of the shop, but once today’s wedding is over, I’m turning my attention to the shop’s back garden. In the meantime, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to write some last-minute lists, have a panic, a strong coffee and set off to Wantage. Have a great week. Ursula
